How woman died in hotel room during fight over sex

The police at State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba, have arrested a 55-year old man following the death of a 65-year-old woman in a hotel room at Olodi Apapa in Lagos State, western Nigeria.

The suspect, Isiaka Akanbi, allegedly took Risikat Raheem to the popular hotel located at Aribo Street, Olodi Apapa at 7 p.m. for sex romp when the incident allegedly happened.

While they were in the hotel, there was disagreement between Akanbi and the late Risikat which resulted in a scuffle.

African presidents create $87m emergency fund to fight Boko Haram

Presidents from the 10-Nation Economic Community of Central African States (CEEAC) pledged in an extraordinary meeting to create an 87 million dollars emergency fund to fight the Islamist militant group Boko Haram.

Gabon's President Ali Bongo, who attended the one-day summit in Cameroon, said he and his counterparts from the CEEAC have decided to create an emergency fund 87 million dollars to fight Boko Haram.

Improved technology best way to fight corruption, says Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan says his administration will adopt improved technology to fight corruption in the country.

The president made the statement in Enugu on Friday at the PDP presidential campaign rally.

According to him, the best way to fight corruption is through improved technology and not by jailing people for 300 years.
