Controversy rocks Deeper Life church over new Mrs Kumuyi’s wedding outfit as against those of members

SPOT THE DIFFERENCE

Controversy, which is threatening to tear apart the Deeper Life Ministry led by Pastor William Kumuyi has been rocking the church highly revered for its ‘holy way of life’ of its members who are doctrined to always do things in ‘heavenly’ manner.

At the center of the uproar has been the wedding garment worn by the wife of the son of the General Superintendent of the church in faraway London in which many have said is a far cry from what they have been taught to be wearing on wedding day.

John Kumuyi,  the second son of Pastor Kumuyi had wedded married former Miss Love Odih, daughter of the National Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry in Jamaica and former State Overseer of the church in Cross River State, Nigeria on Saturday, 15 June at the Deeper Life Bible Church.

Pastor Kumuyi was all suited up at the engagement and church wedding with his wife Esther, who wore traditional attire, while the bridegroom wore a grey suit with his bride decked in flowing white gown and veil to match, while the bride’s parents wore English attires.

Trust Nigerians to dissect anything, most members have been wondering on the ‘get-up’ of the bride which was yards away from what a typical Deeper life bride in Nigeria would wear.

But there are those who believe that the General Superintendent of the church did not make it compulsory for members to always have a typical style of dressing on their wedding days, but rather most of the members prefer living the hypocritical philosophy and man-made doctrine.

According to one of the ‘commenters’ on this funny but self explanatory picture which was posted on  Facebook ;“People have refused to live their own life but rather attach it to an apron of hypocritical philosophy and man made doctrine.I exonerate the dynamic Senior Kumuyi,I think it is the people that have refused to change,I respect Kumuyi and his teachings but the people he is teaching are not learning, it is a pity, religion should embrace freedom, that is what the bible said. It only warned that you should not use your liberty for evil, or take the grace for granted.”
