N7bn bribe: DSS after my life, says Borno pastor



The Borno State-based pastor, Kallamu Musa-Dikwa, who accused the Christian Association of Nigeria of collecting N7bn from President Goodluck Jonathan to campaign against the APC Presidential candidate, Maj-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), has raised the alarm  that operatives of the  Directorate of State Service are after his life.

While maintaining that the christian body collected the said amount, Dikwa said the DSS operatives had forced him to sign a document, which they plan to “show the entire world that President(Jonathan) did not bribe CAN to work against the Presidential candidate of the APC.”

Court orders substitution of PDP gov candidate in Borno

Few weeks to the governorship election in Borno State, a Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to remove Alhaji Mohammed Imam as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state.

Justice Ahmed Mohammed in his judgment on a suit challenging the submission of Iman’s name to the INEC, declared Alhaji Gambo Lawan as the valid governorship candidate of the party in Borno State.

The court held that Lawan had proved to the court that he contested and validly won the party’s primary conducted on December 11, 2014 at Arewa Suites in Abuja.

Biu blast: Borno Govt to shoulder victims’ medical bills

The Borno Government said it would shoulder the medical bills of all the 20 persons injured in Thursday's suicide bomb attack in Biu, headquarters of Biu Local Government Area, in the state.

The Deputy Governor of the state, Alhaji Zannah Mustapha, said this while speaking with newsmen in Maiduguri on Friday.


Mustapha, who also hails from Biu Local Government area said government would also assist families of the eight persons who died in the blast.

Police recover 147 explosives in Borno

The Borno Police Command said on Tuesday that it had uncovered 147 Unexploded Cluster Ordinances (UXOS) in a village near Jakana in Konduga Local Government Area of the state.

Mr Clement Adoda, the Commissioner of Police, stated this at a news conference in Maiduguri.

Adoda said that the items were uncovered on Feb. 8 by a combined Bomb Disposal Unit of the command.

Don’t disrespect Jonathan, Shettima urges Borno citizens, as PDP flags off campaign in Maiduguri

Governor of Borno State and Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress,APC, Kashim Shettima on Friday made a strong appeal to his supporters and all citizens of the State not to show any form of disrespect to President Goodluck Jonathan and his entourage as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, planned to hold its Presidential and Governorship campaign in Maiduguri on Saturday.

Shettima made the call in a statement he personally signed in Maiduguri which was made public by his media associate, Isa Gusau.
