Nigerian on death row in Indonesian writes goodbye letter to lover

A report said on Friday in Jakarta that a Nigerian facing execution in Indonesia for drug smuggling had written a heart-rending letter to say a final goodbye to his lover.

It said Raheem Agbaje-Salami, 42, was taken on Wednesday from a prison in East Java to a prison island off the southern coast of Java where he was due to be executed with nine other inmates this month.

In a letter submitted through the authorities, Agbaje-Salami asked his Indonesian girlfriend Angela Intan to be strong and have faith in God.

Nelson Mandela laid to rest in a blaze of glory: Goodbye Tata. Sleep well

Anti-apartheid hero Nelson Mandela ached to come home as his remains were laid to rest in his childhood village yesterday, Sunday, 15 December 2013 in a blaze of glory.

Funeral and burial ended 10 days of mourning for South Africa's first black president as more than 4,000 people gathered at Mandela's funeral service in a tent in the Qunu hills. According to his family, they believed his spirit was now at home.

The funeral was a final chance for those who knew him best to say goodbye.
Mandela's daughter Maki said her father had always been a country boy at heart, and wanted to return to his remote farm in the Eastern Cape, one of South Africa's most rural areas.

"Even when my father was in jail, he had the fondest memories of Qunu," she said. "And he really wanted to die here."
