Amaechi , Speaker not involved in road accident --- Commissioner

The Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs Ibim Semenitari, has debunked rumours that Gov. Chibuike Amaechi and the Speaker of the state legislature were involved in a road accident.

Semenitari told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Port Harcourt that government had received the rumours that Amaechi and the speaker Mr Otelebe Amachree, were involved in a `ghastly road accident.’

Jonathan, PDP afraid of election – Amaechi

Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, governor of Rivers state has said that President Goodluck Jonathan and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP are afraid of the outcome of the forthcoming general elections.

Amaechi who is also the Director-General, All Progressives Congress, APC Presidential Campaign Organisation stated this in Port Harcourt during APC’s zonal campaign rally, according to a statement by Ibim Seminatari, Director of Communications of Rivers State APC Campaign Organisation.

“You know I used to be in PDP. For the first time, I can see real fear in their eyes, even the president is afraid. You can see that everybody is now gentle because the game is up.

Rivers PDP congratulates Amaechi for losing APC VP’s slot

The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has congratulated the outgoing Governor of the State, Rotimi Chubuike Amaechi for losing his bid to grab the Vice Presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

In a statement signed by Jerry Needam, Special Adviser, on Media to the State PDP Chairman, Bro. Felix Obuah,on Wednesday, the party said it is excited that Amaechi has been confirmed as a serial loser who lacks the capacity to win any competitive contest and can only excel in incivility and loose tongues.

Most disturbing, the party noted, is the billions of tax payers’ money the outgoing governor had allegedly spent on lobbying for the APC VP ticket at the expense of infrastructural development, provision of portable drinking water in the State and payment of salaries and allowances of civil servants and pensioners.

Victorious Buhari picks Amaechi as Vice President Candidate

After several hours of horse-trading at Victoria Island in Lagos by party leaders, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly picked the current governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi as his running mate for the next year presidential elections.

A source close to the campaign organisation of Buhari said Amaechi, a Christian from the South-oouth zone, was picked ahead of others as he was a major financing and logistic supporter of Buhari during the just concluded party’s primary to pick its presidential flag bearer.
