Incumbent governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun,
on Thursday clinched the ticket of the All Progressives Congress to run for the
second term in the governorship primary conducted in Abeokuta.
In a related development, his deputy, Mr. Segun Adesegun,
also declared his governorship ambition on Thursday on the platform of the
Social Democratic Party.
In the primary, which held under tight security, the
governor polled 3,861 votes, in a contest where he is the sole aspirant.
The event was supervised by the state and national
representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission, headed by
Kehinde Mustapha.
