Ahead of the general elections, the wife of the President, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, has charged the people of Rivers State not to vote for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj. Gen. Mohammadu Buhari(retd.), to avoid being sent to jail.

Mrs. Jonathan said Buhari would not hesitate to put his perceived enemies in prison if he wins the forthcoming presidential poll, holding on March 28.

Speaking during the Peoples Democratic Party’s women rally in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, the President’s wife argued that Buhari was a dictator in the past and would never change.

APC women protest attack on Buhari’s wife’s convoy

Hundreds of women of the All Progressives Congress in Kwara State on Wednesday protested against the attack on the convoy of Mr. Aishat Buhari, the wife of the APC presidential candidate. Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.).

They also protested against the alleged attacks on some other women in the state.

Bleeding in pregnant women dangerous- Gynaecologist

A consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, Dr Moses Fache, says bleeding in pregnancy is one of the leading causes of maternal mortality.

Fache, of NISA Premier Hospital , Jabi, Abuja, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Friday.

He said that bleeding in pregnancy was abnormal as it threatens the well-being of both mother and the foetus.

More women detail sex abuse claims against Bill Cosby

Three women on Wednesday came together and detailed allegations that comedian Bill Cosby sexually abused and groped them decades ago.

The fresh allegation came a day after Cosby was sued by a woman who said he molested her when she was a teenager in 1974.

More than a dozen women have publicly accused the comedian of sexual abuse as far back as the 1960s.

The allegations have scuttled Cosby's television projects, and led to cancellations of numerous comedy performances, including two gigs in suburban New York that were scheduled for Saturday.

Two women in ‘roforofo’ fight over maid’s baby

A baby girl born by a house maid in Lagos State, western Nigeria, has caused a fight between two women over who among them should take custody of the baby.

The maid lived with a man, Oyekale Oladele and his wife Ngozi, who have been seeking to have a baby for years to no avail.

Trouble started after Mrs Evelyn Njoku reportedly brought the 15-year old mother of the baby to live with Oyekale Oladele and his wife Ngozi, in Lagos and Oladele allegedly impregnated the maid.

Sources said that after she became pregnant, the couple did not allow Mrs. Njoku to see her.

The pregnant maid was allegedly hidden by Ngozi and her husband at FAAN staff quarters at Murtala Mohammed International Airport where both families reside.

When Njoku later discovered that the girl was still in Oladele’s flat, she was already heavily pregnant.
