We will defeat Buhari at the polls in 2015, says PDP scribe

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said President Goodluck Jonathan would defeat Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) presidential candidate at the polls in 2015.

The National Secretary of PDP, Prof. Wale Oladipo, stated this in Abuja on Monday when chairmen of foreign chapters of the party visited him.

``They have passed through a motion and endorsed their perennial candidate, we have beaten him three times, we are going to beat him once again’’, Oladipo stressed.

He, however, added that members of the foreign chapters of PDP had a big role to play to ensure that the party continued its purposeful leadership beyond 2015.

He said that APC as a political party was not ready to offer an alternative to the teeming masses of the country.

``The only agenda they seem to have is to see our back, but I know that God loves this country so much.

``God has decided that this country will remain indivisible and continue to wax stronger.

``God has decreed it that we continue to pilot the affairs of this country and continue to implement the transformation agenda’’, the PDP scribe said.

Oladipo, who added that PDP did not belong to any religious organisation or ethnic group, called on its foreign representatives to enlighten Nigerians in the Diaspora on the party`s programmes.

The scribe also advised them to launder the country`s image, which he said, was being destroyed before the international community by the opposition.

``Of course, we are not perfect, but our mission is perfect. We mean well for this country and we believe the country should continue to be one.’’

He added that the desire of the PDP was to ensure that the country`s economy was market-driven while it continued to provide succour for the weak.

The PDP foreign representatives proposed to the PDP leadership the need to have an e-campaign committee.

This, according to some of them, was necessary because virtual posters not paper posters alone, were needed to reach the world.

Mr Chukwuma Obidike, representing United Kingdom chapter of the PDP, said the opposition parties were propagating negativity about the party and the country.

He added PDP foreign chapters would do everything possible to correct such negative propaganda by putting the achievements of the PDP-Federal Government on the internet.
