The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar, on
Friday condoled with Saudi Arabian Government over the demise of the paramount
ruler of the kingdom, King Abdullah Ibn Abdul'Azeez Al-Sa’ud.
Abubakar, who is also the President General of Jama'atu
Nasril Islam (JNI), expressed the condolence in a statement issued in Kaduna by
its Secretary General, Dr Khalid Aliyu.
The Sultan said Saudi Arabia recorded remarkable progress
during the reign of Abdullah.
``The kingdom witnessed rapid infrastructure development,
taking into consideration the magnificent turn-around of the two sacred Mosques
of the kingdom.’’
The Sultan said that the late monarch was instrumental to
the transformation ``which tremendously eases the observance of the rituals of
Hajj by pilgrims throughout the world.
``The late monarch was also known for diplomacy and a sense
of tie-ship of the Ummah", he said.
He said Abdullah facilitated numerous peace pacts and
cordial relationships across faith.
``It is also on record that his reign witnessed economic
fortunes to the kingdom.
``JNI, therefore, consoles the immediate family of the
deceased, the government/kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Muslim Ummah the world
over”, he said.
The Sultan also prayed Allah, the Most High, to forgive the
shortcomings of the deceased and continue to grant peace, stability and
progress to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Muslim Ummah.
``The JNI also wishes the new monarch, Salman Ibn
Abdul’Azeez, Allah's guidance, foresight and longevity as he steers the affairs
of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
