The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other
Related Offences Commission (ICPC), on Friday, commended Mr John Ibrahim’s
family for handing their son, Joseph, over to the commission for investigation.
ICPC spokesman, Folu Olamiti in a statement
in Abuja, said Joseph was declared wanted by the ICPC over fraudulent
activities.
Olamiti said the declaration was published
in an advertorial in the Daily Trust newspaper of Monday, Feb. 9.
``Two days after, his family and friends
turned him in at the ICPC Headquarters in Abuja.
``Joseph is in ICPC custody and has been
very cooperative and has made useful statements.
`` The ICPC is using this medium to praise
the family and friends of Joseph for their rare patriotic act”, he said.
Olamiti urged Nigerians to emulate the
patriotic act adding that the renewed citizen participation in the fight
against corruption was a step in the right direction.
He said the fight against corruption was a
collective one.
