An Igando Customary Court, Lagos, on Wednesday dissolved an
eight-year-old marriage between Mr Musiliu Abdul and his wife, Bisola, for sex
denial.
The President of the court, Mr Rasak Adeyeri, while delivering
judgment, said Abdul and Bisola were no longer husband and wife.
Abdul,49, businessman, has urged the court to dissolve the
marriage, alleging that his wife starved him of sex.
``My wife always starve me of sex, she will not even allow
me to touch her or make love to her,’’ he said.
He also said that his wife once reported him to the police
alleging that he hired assassins to kill her.
``She claimed she had been receiving calls from unknown
people, who threatened to kill her; she was also accusing me of sending them
after her,’’ he said.
The petitioner claimed that his wife rented his house out
without his consent and that she did not remit the money to him.
``She rented out my apartment and sent away my security
guard without my knowledge."
Bisola, 48, trader, however confirmed she was receiving
death threat from unknown people, adding that she believed it was the work of
her husband.
She also told the court that she had never denied her
husband sex as he was taking care of him anytime he needed her.
She said she rented the apartment out because her husband
told her that he had willed the house to her daughter.
Bisola said her husband came home one day only to park all
his belonging without any quarrel.
She pleaded with the court not to grant her husband's wish
as she was still interested in the marriage.
