Tinubu didn’t impose Lawan, Gbajabiamila on APC – Boroffice

The  Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District, Robert Boroffice, on Tuesday clarified that the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress,  Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, did not impose Senator Ahmad Lawan and Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, as consensus candidates of the party for the National Assembly leadership positions.

There was a general  outcry among some federal lawmakers over the roles played by Tinubu, towards the inauguration of the eight National Assembly when the election into the office of the Senate President; his deputy; Speaker of the House of Representatives and his deputy, were conducted.

Tinubu vs AIT: Court fixes April 1 for ruling

Justice Olamide Akinkugbe of  a  Lagos High Court has fixed April 1 for ruling on the interlocutory application filed by the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju  Bola Tinubu, against the Africa Independent Television (AIT).

Justice Akinkugbe fixed the date after taking the submissions of the applicants and defendants in the N150 billion suit filed by Asiwaju Tinubu against the AIT.

The trial judge  last week granted an interim injunction restraining the AIT from airing the said documentary pending the determination of the interlocutory application.

I didn’t offer Tinubu interim govt VP slot, Jonathan hits back

President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday said there was no truth in the claim by a national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, that he offered the former Lagos State governor the opportunity to serve as Vice President in a proposed Interim National Government.

Jonathan, who spoke with State House correspondents in Abuja through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, described Tinubu’s claim as absurd and ridiculous.

Tinubu had in a statement by his media office on Thursday claimed that the recent attacks on his person were because he rejected the offer by Jonathan to serve as the Vice President in an ING.

APC forged alleged Presidency letter ordering investigation of Atiku, Tinubu, Amechi, others, says Muazu

The national chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Adamu Mu’azu,   has stated that the supposed leaked document from the Presidency ordering the secret financial investigation of leaders of the main opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC) was forged.

He said the letter directed to the Economic Financial Crimes Commission by the Chief of Staff to the President, Brigadier General Jones Oladehinde Arogbofa (rtd), to investigate Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, Governor Rotimi Amaechi and 17 others was forged.

 “Imagine APC going to the length of forging documents. How very sad. Nigerians are wiser now,” Mu’azu wrote on his Twitter handle.

Tinubu, Fashola, others hold APC one-million-man march today

In a bid to neutralise the effect of the visits of President Goodluck Jonathan to Lagos, chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, led by former Governor Bola Tinubu and Governor Babatunde Fashola, will  today, Saturday hold a one-million-man march.

According to the Lagos State coordinator of the APC Campaign Organisation, Mr. James Faleke,  the walk would begin from Maryland through Allen Avenue and end at Alausa, behind the Ikeja City Mall.

He said, “In order to psychologically prepare the minds of our voters and give a psychological defeat to the opposition, we are planning a one-million-man march on Saturday by 8a.m. It will commence at Maryland through Allen Avenue and will end behind Shoprite, Alausa.

Tinubu planning to become President when Buhari’s health worsens, says PDP

The Presidential Campaign Organisation of the Peoples Democratic Party has alleged that former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, is plotting to become the President of Nigeria through what it called the back door.

It said the plot by the former governor, who is a stalwart of the main opposition party, the All Progressive Congress, was to take over as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the event that the APC candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), wins the March 28, presidential election.

Director of Media and Publicity of the PDPPCO, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, made this allegation at a press conference in Abuja on Friday.

A new banner has been positioned in front of the private residence of the national leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu condemning the invasion of the Bourdillon Road by battle ready and helmet wearing soldiers.

In the blanket banner, the message says, “This is not Sambisa forest: Wrong posting.”

Combat ready-soldiers take over Tinubu’s Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi residence


**** Nobody can intimidate me, says National Leader of the All Progressives Congress

For about three days now, the private residence of the national leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu located on Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi has been under surveillance by battle ready and helmet wearing soldiers.

Close to 30 stern-looking soldiers in three patrol vans and an army trucks have been noticed to been stationed close to the entrance of the gate to Tinubu’s house.

There have been insinuation that their mission might be to arrest Tinubu and perhaps scare away hordes of politicians and visitors to the APC national leader’s residence.

Poll shift: Jonathan afraid of defeat, says Tinubu

The national leader of Nigeria’s main opposition party, All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu,   has stated that the general elections were postponed because President Goodluck Jonathan was afraid he was going lose if the election had held.

The former governor of Lagos state noted that the general elections were announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega but the words were those of Jonathan.

PDP in Ekiti slams Tinubu, APC for copying stomach infrastructure initiative

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Ekiti State on Monday berated All Progressives Congress (APC), for mimicking Gov. Ayo Fayose's ``stomach infrastructure’’ initiative.

Secretary of the party in the State, Dr Tope Aluko, who made the criticism in a statement in Ado-Ekiti, added that the aping amounted to ``hypocrisy at its peak.’’

He said Fayose’s stomach infrastructure initiative was fully adopted by the APC National Leader and former Governor of Lagos State, Sen. Bola Tinubu.

Why I stepped down for Osinbajo as Buhari’s running mate – Tinubu

The national leader of the All Progressives Congress and former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has explained the reason he had to step down for his former State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, as the vice presidential candidate of the party despite his widespread endorsement by the party.

Tinubu, in a statement on Wednesday said though he deserved the VP slot having  worked extra hard moving the party from being merely an idea in the minds of a few into being a political organization that might win this election and govern the nation in way that gives the people the hope and opportunity they seek,  he had to withdraw from being considered for the APC vice presidential position in the interest of the country.

“I have labored hard to move this party from being merely an idea in the minds of a few into being a political organization that might win this election and govern the nation in way that gives the people the hope and opportunity they seek.” He said.

Buhari might announce Tinubu as running mate today

The National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, said the running mate for the party’s presidential candidate for the 2015 general election might be announced on Wednesday.

Odigie-Oyegun, who disclosed this to newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday at the end of National Working Committee meeting of the party, said that the presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, would make the announcement in a news conference.

He said that the party had reached agreement on presidential running mate but insisted that it would be made public by Buhari.

PDP kicks as Tinubu announces daughter as new President of Lagos market men and women to replace his mother

Following the vacuum created by the death of the President of Lagos market men and women, late Alhaja Abibat Mogaji, her son, former Lagos State governor Alhaji Bola Tinubu was said to have pronounced his daughter, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo the new President General of market men and women in Lagos.

Tinubu made this pronouncement at 7th day prayer held by leaders of Market Association for the late Abibatu Mogaji at her Sunday Adigun residence in Ikeja, Lagos on Sunday.

Tinubu, who interrupted the prayer sessions to make the decree, first told the market leaders that the house where Mogaji lived and died has been willed to the association.

Before the applause that followed could die down, he had told the audience, “I also want to announce to you that the new Iyaloja of Lagos is Folashade Tinubu-ojo. We are in a new era. Besides, Mama was not older than her age when she became Iyaloja"
