Nymphomaniac: Seyi Kolade, at 25 years

Meet Seyi Kolade who was highly addicted to sex as a nerve
calmer and as a way to get away from loneliness. She was a chronic addict of
sex and had sex for 13 years of her life. Whenever she met a new man, especially
at a bar, Seyi Kolade had only one thing on her mind as she chatted with the
stranger – SEX.
Within hours the pair were in bed together and she was
delighted at how her evening had panned out. And this was not a chance
encounter, for Seyi was a sex addict and it was what she did almost every day
for 13 YEARS. . As she claims sex addiction took over her entire life from the
tender age of 17.
Now 35, she says she had as many as 40 partners at the age
of 19 and it reached a total of 370 bed mates throughout her life. Very
shocking indeed. She has had 2 pregnancy terminations, several sexually
transmitted diseases and has been thrown out of her house several times over
non-payment of rent.
Four years have gone by since Seyi Kolade last gave in to
her addiction. She walks by, a strong smile on her face, and just haunting
half-remembered thoughts bear the scars of her past life. Her sex addiction,
and maniacal dependence on carnality was in the past and today, she’s stronger
now.
Speaking to The Sun, UK, she said: “Sex addiction took hold
of my life.”
Now 35 years old, she became dependent on men when she was
barely going on 17. By age 19, she sex tally had over 40 partners and she says
she has bedded a shocking total of 370 men. And the consequences came.
They
always do come. Her dangerous addiction led her to a life of destruction —
catching sexually transmitted infections, being evicted from her home and
having two abortions.
By age 30 she realized she had hit her lowest in life, and
cried for help. And after going through numerous sex addiction meetings and
12-step programmes, Seyi has emerged celibate for four years and is helping
others overcome their sex addiction.
She explain saying: “Sex addiction is something people
associate with men, but it took hold of my life for more than 13 years.
“It was a craving and a fear of how I’d feel if I couldn’t
get it.
“Once I did, it was a huge relief, like a weight was lifted.
“It’s like any addiction. It made me selfish,
self-destructive and depressed but it was a cycle I couldn’t escape.”
She adds: “I lost my virginity when I was 13 with my first
boyfriend.
“I was shocked when I fell pregnant. I gave birth when I was
14. It was a very difficult time.”
